Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about detox, treatment, insurance, admissions, and what to expect at Connected Recovery Inc.

The duration of medical detox varies depending on the substance, duration of use, amount used, and the individual's overall health. Generally, acute withdrawal symptoms last 3–7 days, though some substances may require a longer detox period. Our medical team monitors each client 24/7 and adjusts protocols based on individual needs and clinical response. Some clients transition to residential treatment after 5–10 days of detox.

Yes — Connected Recovery Inc. works with most major health insurance plans. Our admissions team will verify your benefits confidentially before admission so you understand exactly what your plan covers, including any out-of-pocket costs. We handle the paperwork and authorization process. You can verify your insurance benefits by calling us or using our online verification form.

We treat a broad range of substance use disorders including alcohol, opioids (heroin, fentanyl, prescription painkillers), methamphetamine, cocaine, prescription drugs (benzodiazepines, stimulants, sedatives), and polysubstance use. Each client receives a comprehensive assessment to develop an individualized treatment plan addressing their specific substance use history and clinical needs.

We recommend bringing comfortable casual clothing (7-day supply), comfortable shoes, personal hygiene items (toiletries must be alcohol-free), current prescription medications in their original bottles, insurance cards and identification, and a list of emergency contacts. Items not permitted include alcohol or drugs, weapons, aerosol products, mouthwash or other alcohol-based products, opened OTC medications, valuable jewelry, and electronics with cameras in certain areas.

Yes. We encourage family involvement — with client consent — through our Family Program. This includes family education sessions, family therapy, communication skills training, and guidance on how loved ones can best support the recovery process. Family participation can significantly improve treatment outcomes and support long-term recovery.

Discharge and aftercare planning begin early in treatment. Our clinical team works with each client to develop a personalized continuing care plan that may include: step-down to a lower level of care (outpatient or intensive outpatient), referrals to community recovery resources, sober living placement assistance, ongoing individual therapy, case management follow-up, and a structured relapse prevention plan.

Yes. Connected Recovery Inc. specializes in dual diagnosis treatment — integrated care for individuals with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and trauma-related conditions. Our clinical team includes licensed mental health professionals who address both conditions simultaneously, which is the evidence-based standard of care.

We can often admit clients the same day or within 24 hours, depending on bed availability and clinical appropriateness. The admissions process includes a brief telephone screening, insurance verification, and a clinical assessment. Our admissions team is available to guide you through each step. Call us at (213) 808-9421 to speak with an admissions coordinator.

We offer medically supervised detoxification (ASAM 3.2) and clinically managed residential treatment (ASAM 3.1, 3.3, and 3.5). These levels of care provide 24/7 structured support for individuals who need a supervised environment during early recovery. Our clinical team determines the appropriate level of care based on a thorough assessment.
